Wandering Foot Quilt Guild | ![]() |
Our general meeting for August will be a contest for making quilt tops for babies and toddlers. We will start the business part of the meeting at 6:30 pm so that we can start the contest at 7 pm.
Each group will have a leader, a presser and several sewers. Those who cannot commit to a job for whatever reason will be put to work on other projects for the evening.
Please call Midge at (626)286-2269 or send an e-mail to wfguild2003@yahoo.com if you would like to be added to a group for the contest or have fabric to donate toward the endeavor. The meeting hall of the church will be open and available in the afternoon for use by those who wish to work on some Outreach Quilts of your own. Please call Midge Schuyler or Jill Safranek to let us know you would like to be there early.
Remember our goal is to give away enough quilts to equal twice the number of members that are in the guild. Please bring in the tops and or finished quilts you are contributing, any time they are ready.
Please call Midge (626)286-2269 or Sheilah (626)285-7856 if you have fabric or batting to donate to this project, or if you just want to say Hello.
Lunch, Boutique & Quilt Show
Members need to sign up to be a white glove person, to help with making food, and to show their quilts. Barbara Stubbe and Barbara John continue to work on preparations for this big event. Contact them for details on how you can participate.
Many beautiful items have been made for the boutique. However we can still use some more. Let’s all make the boutique a huge success. Completed items may be given to Pat Haag at the August, or September guild meetings. Please attach a tag with your name and suggested selling price.
Cost will be $35 per member. Location will be announced later. Learn a few of the techniques she has used in her award-winning quilts and garments. Techniques covered include: Nested, piped, and lined Prairie Points; Flat and corded piping; Afghani piece work; Cathie’s signature machined reverse appliqué; Barcelona Blossoms; Traditional and Origami puffs; Rickrack flowers and rickrack application.
This class is fast paced and fun, but suitable for the beginner and the intermediate quilter. Additional techniques are provided for those who wish to continue on at home including tips for drawing traditional blocks.
The class is limited to 20 people; please sign up as soon as possible
