Happy March! Greetings to all and a special greeting to our new members. I love seeing new faces each month. Our guild ended February with a talk by Don Beld; he shared a wealth of information and presented some wonderful old/new quilts.
We are well on our way to having a wonderful year. The guild is trying out new things (newsletter, etc.) which are essential to making our Guild exciting and a current organization. So get involved, make suggestions, any new ideas are always welcomed and can be voiced at the monthly board meetings. Members also support the Guild by getting the word out about Guild Events, Fund Raisers and by selling tickets for the Opportunity Quilt. You can also attend our sister (So. CA) Guilds? events, shows etc. and be reciprocated in kind, by their attendance at our events.
It's that time again, the YARD SALE is on! This is another great way to support the Guild, clean out your stash, rid your basket of those things bought with good intentions, but somehow never quite made it to the machine. Think how much room you will have for those new kits, rulers, gadgets you will obtain in the coming months. Remember someone else's cast-off becomes another's treasure. Bring your Show & Tell also. This is such a highlight during our regular meetings and it may induce some new faces among the crowd of yard sale shoppers to join WFQG. Times and drops offs are given in the Yard Sale section of the newsletter. Sign-ups will also be available for the upcoming workshops with Nadine Kirk and Jill Schumacher. Due to the YARD SALE, our meeting on Wednesday, March 24th will be short but sweet. See you at the Sale Tables!!
Your President, Muriel
